I have had different types of foot pain. I can’t say for sure which were related to bartonella.
-tender feet since childhood (hurt to go barefoot)
- hard to find closed-in shoes that don’t hurt the big toe bone on the side of the foot where people get bunions (since childhood)
- 2 weeks of bilateral bone pain in my entire feet that would start every time I got up to start walking and would ease off after walking a bit (felt like every bone in my feet were about
to break and the skeletal structure of my feet were about
to collapse) (This was a few years after Lyme symptoms started and was the first time I was tested for Lyme and RMSF by my PCP. I also had bilateral stiffness in all my fingers and wrists, numbness in hands and forearms, and something similar to carpal tunnel in my right wrist soon after this episode with my feet.)
- stiffness and soreness when getting up to walk (usually worse in the mornings and usually accompanied by stiff ankles)
- burning in bottoms of feet and swelling in lower legs, ankles, and feet
- burning in toes and tops of feet that is quite random and has been happening frequently (may be due to toxic mold exposure that I am dealing with); have also had similar burning sensations in some of my fingers that comes and goes (bart? mold? EMF sensitivities?)
I did not have a positive bart test. I assume bart lifelong based on foot issues, streaks on abdomen and stretch marks on legs since childhood, headaches (could be Lyme or ehrlichia which I did test positive for), etc.
My mother used to complain of hot, burning feet and hands when middle aged but she doesn’t have it now, at 82. I used to have cold hands and feet until my Lyme symptoms started. I’m late 40’s and peri-menopausal now with hot hands and feet that burn me.
