Roxithromycin plus cefixime plus tinidazole

Hi,

My LLMD has put me on new antibiotic roxithmycin with cefixime also bactrim, bactrim i cant tolerate its too hard on side effects. I am to take antibiotics only on mon, wed, fri, 3 weeks on, followed by 1 week off of antibiotics. In the third week 2 days with tinidazole. Also NAC every other day. Also artemísia 200mg two times a day and vitamin C 1g every day. According to the same schedule. As anyone had this schedule? I hope this combo work. What do you all think?

interesting - the roxithmycin isn't one we commonly see. azithromycin and clarithromycin are the more commonly prescribed macrolides for lyme and co's.

That's because roxithromycin isn't approved for sale in the US or Canada.

Im in Europe, roxithromycin seems ok. Bactrim sulfa is problem.

Bactrim is heavy duty. In 10 persons, 7 have danger side effects. Not risking it. Askpatient web site and see all the 1 score. I am not the lucky one for sure...

My main problem with it is it messing with my electrolytes. I tried taking just 400/80 once a day and seemed to tolerate that okay. So now I tried taking it twice a day. I'm getting some slight headache and feel like I need more salt. I'm also getting diarrhea from it. So far, labs (CMP, folate) look okay.

It's making me herx quite a lot, but not any worse than valproate. If you can tolerate valproate, why not continue with that?

Does not mean it happens to everyone, i know, but for me as i am to sensitive, not worth it. Quinolones for example, my mouth burned and my tongue got full of blisters.

Oh - Ok that’s where you got your info from?
That’s hardly saying that 7 out of 10 people will have dangerous side effects.

People who have side effects are most likely to a site like that and report it...
