I had really bad peripheral nerve damage in the legs and while it hasn't gone away completely that was about 7 years ago and its minor now. I had lots of allergies then and couldn't take anything for lyme. Treating lyme successfully has only been in the last 18 months.
A medical intuitive (at the time) advised me to get one of the vibrational exercise machines but it was too painful to use at first. I took b12, omega 3s, ginkgo biloba and liver detox supplements. I had to figure out the next step on my own without a doctor because I am in the bush (Australia) and the local doctors dont understand lyme or auto-immune issues. I found a local lady that did Bowan treatments - it is a kind of massage that is gentle and works acupuncture points. Acupuncture would work and there are other massage techniques that would help because I don't think Bowan therapy is very well known outside of Australia. . With the massage once a week I could tolerate using the vibrational machine at least once a day and then more often a day. I did one minute at a time. Bit by bit and it was slow, it went away.
Bioresonance tests I have done tell me I need choline to repair the nerves. The naturopath I went to a few months ago recommended DMSA, and CDP choline, eggs in the diet...so I am doing that but no changes I can see but it seems this is kind of thing takes time. And choline for nerve support makes sense.
All the best - there are people recovering from this kind of nerve damage. Its all about getting your circulation going (exercise) and supporting the health of the nerves. Of course diabetes, infections and particularly lyme are other contributing factors. Lyme does something to disrupt an enzyme called acetyl cholinaze. So the nerves over time need nutritional support.
