Staph Aureus showed up in Nasal Swab

This showed up in large amounts in my nasal swab. Is this something to be concerned about or is this a common bacteria everyone has?

I have no fungus, Marcons, etc it says

it can be ...if were immunocomprimised which were are .:: silver and xylitol nasal rinse will get it in 7-10days...

Some percentage of ppl are natural carriers of staph and it's fine bt sometimes u can get an overgrowth and it can make u very sick. It can also get into the bloodstream if it builds up enough and cause staph sepsis and can be deadly. If you don't have any symptoms it's fine

Yes it is a common bacteria in showers and humans commonly carry it on their skin everywhere, and you can get it from dirty showers/shavers; knowing this now I always try to swab a Q-tip with isopropyl rubbing alcohol along the razor edge after I shave. The shower drain had been backed up, and the bacteria-water somehow got into a painful infected toenail.

And that's where the immunocompromised part happens, infections like these can take over when you are weak (I think I had been treating with Amoxicillin/Doxycycline at the time) so my weak immune system already had too much going on with Lyme n co's n friends.

I had to have minor surgery on a toe, as an infected hangnail turned very painful with Staph. Aureus. And yes staph. infections can quickly get out of control and be life-threatening. I went to ER in pain felt like my toe was broken, then referred to a podiatrist who drained it and cut out half my big toe-nail. It was a relief.

I once had an infected hangnail after I had picked it more and pretty sure it turned to staph. Turned into that looked like a huge bubble on the finger with pus and felt like the entire finger was broke. The color in my finger actually started to change I had so much nausea and headaches and dissiness alone with it thought I'd die for sure it's very dangerous m I was treated with antibiotics

I think many carry it harmlessly in their nares. When my husband had hip surgery he had to have his nares swabbed to test for it and they said 1/3 of the population carries it and its potentially only harmful if you had a surgery and got it into your incision, and even this is merely speculation. Those that test positive are put on Bactroban which is a more potent form of neosporin.

If you are concerned, talk to your doctor.

Ya my doctor makes every tiny thing that pops up on a test seem like the end of the world so it’s always tough to tell if I should be wasting more money treating it. I don’t know what the symptoms are but I don’t believe I have any.

Just all brain fatigue, head pressure and cognitive issues for me.
