Anyone had Proven Lyme and Lupus at Same Time?

Is it possible to have both at same time? As in not "Lupus like symptoms with Lyme" but true Lupus with Lyme.

I went back and read a good number of posts about the subject and there seemed to be a lot about how Lyme can cause Lupus until Lyme and co-infections are treated. But no true consensus. My recent blood tests plus a good number of symptoms seem very much like Lupus - positive ANA (speckled pattern), heat intolerance, daily fever, fatigue, back pain, vitiligo (which is autoimmune but does not just mean Lupus), tight neck muscle, more... Biggest concern is Lupus nephritis.

Also had a battery of Lupus specific blood tests today, but I'd like to be prepared and educated as best possible when I talk with rheumotologist about it. And she does believe in Lyme as she is the one who diagnosed it more than 6 years ago.

Maybe there is no true answer to the question, but I thought I'd give it a try. Can't find it answered online after looking most of today.

I suspect someone could very well have chronic lyme and antibodies for Lupus. Just like some chronic lyme patients have built up antibodies around there thyroid for Hashimotos Disease or Graves Disease. As I mentioned in a recent post I made on this forum between the link between Bartonella and the Thyroid, what if a lot of Graves patients actually just have dormant bartonella infection, as well as Hashimotos patients. Dr. Hirsch on Better Health Guy said once his chronic lyme patients treated their bartonella properly with A-Bart, their thyroid antibodies would go down. Hirsch proposes that Bartonella is attracted to the thyroid because of the incredible blood supply it has and that's where a good portion of bartonella may reside... A great study would be how many cat owners have thyroid autoimmune diagnosis? Just like how I wonder how many cat owners have anxiety and are on Xanax? Considering the psychological carnage of having both bartonella and the brain parasite from cats, aka toxoplasmosis, I think I read somewhere that 40% of cat owners have that brain parasite, yikes... I can't imagine what one's psychological state and thyroid is like if you have both bartonella and toxoplasmosis, so yeah I think I'll pass on ever having a pet cat. Here's an interesting article for you to read... CDC acts as if both Bartonella and Toxoplasmosis have pretty mild symptoms, just they said about Babesia.

And I suspect a lot of Celiac patients test positive after contracting lyme as well...

So bottom line is, I think many autoimmune tests can come back positive and lead many Doctors to believe that a patient is solely suffering from Lupus, Hashimotos, Graves, Celiac, etc... But really they're just suffering from borrelia and coinfections. It sends many off on a wild goose chase for years, even a decade or longer, I suspect for some people, forever... Scary thought!

I see another celebrity called Genevieve Gorder popped up in the news a few months back and said she has chronic lyme and Hashimotos. I wonder if the Babesia or Bart could be causing her Hashimotos and if she targeted the coinfections properly, she could reverse her Hashimotos and thyroid antibodies? Believe me, even though these celebrities are worth millions, they're still very much misguided by many different doctors that think they know everything there is to know about autoimmune disorders and lyme disease, but actuality don't one's ass from a hole in the ground...

Bottom line is, I think there's probably millions of Americans as well as other people in other countries walking around with psychological issues, autoimmune diseases and disorders, while they and their Doctors think they know the cause, they don't have a clue.... And they just end up masking their diseases and symptoms with bandaids like Xanax, Predisone, and Opioids...

Here's another one, ever hear of this celebrity or music artist before, Kris Kristofferson?

So considering amount of celebrities that have chronic lyme and going misdiagnosed, God only knows what's going on in the middle and lower class people of the world, scary thought, very scary thought...

I still suspect Selma Blair may have lyme... I checked out one of here social media pages once, there were a few lyme patients warning her about lyme, who knows if she listening to any of them... Bottom line is the IDSA lyme stigma still sticks for the average person I suspect.

Not sure about lupus per se. I've heard of a case of a woman being over-medicated w/abx for Lyme and go into multiple sys organ failure due to medication induced lupus.

As for me, starting up with a new LLMD, they tested me for everything under the sun including, Lyme and co-infections and I tested positive for Sjogren's which is related to lupus.

I've also had EBV in 08 & 11. I was IgM+ for Lyme in 14 & + IgG 1 band for Lyme in 18.

My LLMD said Bart can mimic Sjogren's. I've also read lupus can mimic Lyme. So I'm like "what the heck?" I also have Hashimotos. I know Dr. D Cameron LLMD cites a case of Sjogren's that was really Lyme.

You really need a lupus specialist (google reviews) to know if you have it.

I went to one, said I was Lupus free.... Said keep this in mind -since I have other autoimmune stuff. I do ANA yearly now. Then more / further if its pos as it fluctuates in the past.
