Hi,

I've been on Biaxin for a week and for the last two nights I've woken up with a racing heart rate.

I've messaged my LLMD and going to hold off taking anymore.

Anyone experienced this?

No I didn’t - you are aware of the black box warning on it though - right?

(QT Prolongation ) affects the heart.

Didn't see a black box warning, not that it wasn't there, but I did thoroughly read the side effects.

It warned of heart arrhythmias, cardiac instability, and QT syndrome.

I never got the printout about the black box warning for the long qt - I found out about it from the forum after the fact.

I would get your heart checked out - for peace of mind. It could be the infections/herxing but doesn’t hurt to check it out.

I believe it’s the ekg that will show the long qt interval

The long qt often happens without symptoms -

Thanks Girlie. I had my heart thoroughly checked out in 2016/17 due to arrhythmias.

Holter monitor, ultrasound, EKG. Do you mean have another in light of this episode? My initial workup was normal.

I'll let the doctor know. smile

Yes - since you had an episode after starting a new med that can cause long qt.
I’m thinking the ekg will be enough - at least discuss with your dr.
