I have not used essential oils except in some bug spray I got a couple months ago. I recently went to a DoTERRA party. I am interested but still hesitant to buy and use.
When the rep passed around different products to try, I found the Breathe one opened my head up nicely. Also, there was a Blue something for pain relief. I rubbed some on my neck and quickly felt my whole body sort of downshift and relax. It completely took me by surprise. I did not expect rubbing something on my skin to have systemic effects like that.
My only concern is that the effects are temporary and don’t last long. Does it really bring about healing or homeostasis at some point, or is it just another money making way to cover up symptoms?
I have been using herbs for 2 years now, but the oils are a different animal. I don’t understand about topical vs internal use in terms of effectiveness and safety. For example, if I need help killing mold or parasites in my GI tract, how is rubbing something on my skin going to help that?
I also did some searching through past posts. Learned that DoTERRA and Young Living are MLM companies. Some people questioned their purity. Others mentioned other non-MLM companies and even Mountain Rose Herbs.
However, when I looked at the information on the non-MLM sites, there is no mention of internal use. On the other hand, DoTERRA states most of their oils are safe for internal use. Mountain Rose said not to use internally unless working with a practitioner. What kind of practitioner is a master of essential oil internal use? I would think most practitioners, like chiropractors work solely with an MLM brand.
