Took Japanese knotweed tincture for other benefits. Never thought I could have Lyme Disease. Was taking 1/4 teaspoon once to twice per day and just started getting worse and worse joint pain, all over. I have artificial hips and a pretty crooked spine, hypothyroidism, high bp, pre diabetes, and numerous maladies. Prostate scheduled for Turp, seem to get bladder infections regularly.
Anyways I started researching the web for whether this pain could be a side effect of JK. I came across its uses for Lyme disease and Herxing. I have had the red marks characteristic of Lyme many years ago. I used to love the woods and was in nature all the time. Ticks were routine, but I was pretty good about showering and checking every night. I began to wonder if I could have been fighting Lyme for 30 years now. I couldn’t take the pain any more do I discontinued the JK. Got better. Started taking B12 and Mag/Calcium.
Feeling better I decide to start the JK again. I took one drop per day for two weeks, then up to two drops for two weeks. Absolute terrible again.
Question to the knowledgeable. I am in Canada, Manitoba. Will a standard Lyme test show up in my blood? I have read theories of the bacteria’s ability to hide in joints and how JK will flush them out.
I would put up with the pain if I knew this would help in the long run. It doesn’t seem many people react as severely as I have.
I’m due to have another hip replacement. I would like to find out if my hip pain could be Lyme all along. Both shoulders are feeling pretty shot. I will be 63 in a few weeks and need some help to face the coming years.
Thanks in advance for any response.
