Gel/cream self- applicator for mid/upper back?

This is a conundrum! I'm trying to think of ways to mount a paint brush on the wall. My mom uses door frames for reaching the upper back. Saran wrap and tape might come in handy. I'm assuming you either don't have a long-handled back brush you can repurpose or that the arm angles those brushes necessitate might not be comfortable, depending on the issue. Hoping someone has a great idea for you!

Ive needed to figure this out for a long time , for the gels/creams, (not the DMSO)..

the order I do this if using DMSO:

1)I'd be applying the gel or cream first which needs to be rubbed in at least a little- tool used (the post question) can be any material that does not shed.

2)Then I apply Dmso with the horse hair paint brush , which can reach most places to let "soak in" since its a liquid ., If hand reachable, I help rub it in a little. Cant apply DMSO with synthetic materials that it might break down and draw into your body.

WbF - gels and creams need a little rubbing in, pain brush wont work- to flimsy. DMSO is like water.

Maybe one of those kitchen and bath type stores have some kind of back pad on a stick applicator for stuff like this- maybe for body lotion in the dry winter ?. I figure some ladies here might know.

I edited my post so not sure if you saw my spatula suggestion. A smaller silicone spatula might work, like the kind you use to stir cake batter.

You could get a wooden back scratcher with a long handle and attach a cosmetic sponge applicator. It will absorb the gel, though.
