Background - on maintenance protocol taking abx one week a month on M/W/Th/F

Last night - a few hours after taking my Rifabutin, mino and Ceftin, a herx set in with fever 101, high heart rate and horrible thoracic area back pain. I questioned whether it was a herx - how can I still be herxing ??
Maybe it’s because during the 3 weeks off of abx, the Bacteria is flourishing and then I hit it with abx.

I went to bed and had a hard time falling asleep with the rapid heart beat. I managed to get a few hours.
In the morning I woke up with my usual “Pang” of anxiety plus sweating.
Got out of bed and no back pain.
This lasted all day - I can’t remember the last time I had an entire day pain free.
It’s 8:30 pm now and I now have some back pain - maybe a 2 out of 10.

Had monthly lab work done several days ago and my wbc count was higher than it’s been in a long time = 4.8

I had a phone call from the J clinic a few weeks ago - asking if I was taking the leucovorin (folate) as that was good for wbc because mine is always lower than they liked.( 4.0 to 4.2)
I wasn’t - I had stopped taking it when I stopped taking the dapsone and daraprim.
So I started taking the leucovorin again now my wbc count is higher.
I’ll see what happens next time - I’m continuing to take the leucovorin - so hopefully my wbc count will stay up or even increase more.

First, great to hear improvement for you. And it makes sense, to me, the reaction could be from a herx. I took two extra pellets of monolaurin this morning and felt worse within and hour or two.

Whatever you are doing seems to be working. Pulling for continued success for you. You've pulled for more than your share of others.

Thanks all for the support!

I’ve just never had a herx followed by a noticeable improvement before. So it was unexpected but it did confirm that Bart is still fighting to hang on in my body!

Have you ever tried methylene blue for it?

I do think it’s bart. I have suspected that I’ve had bart smouldering in me since childhood.
I also may have been reinfected in 2016 after a bad cat bite who was ill. Unfortunately at that time I was taking big breaks off abx - was without a dr for awhile after dumping my LLND and prior to going to the J clinic.

I have not tried methylene blue - I do try to stick to the protocols I’m given.

Had a crappy day - sigh.

How could I herx Friday evening, feel great Saturday - like the best I’ve been since getting lyme symptoms and today hurting again.

Did the toxins build up again from last week of killing?

Not making sense.

Probably different bacteria dying. Bartonella dies first and causes a fever, then a few days later borrelia dies and causes muscle pain?

Don't get discouraged Girlie.
With Lyme, our wellbeing curve has up and down but if we take a step back and look at your symptoms curve trajectory, it seems to me that your heading in an amazing direction. Keep going, It's encouraging to see you progress.

It’s not all Lyme/co either. We’re affected by many things, some more than others. Some are more sensitive to more subtle changes, while others are affected by a wider range of influences, both internal and external.
