Absolutely!
Herxes can be serious and can cause damage. I have been hospitalized for herxes before. The body being flooded with endotoxins is a form of being poisoned. Some doctors believe that herxing should be avoided at all costs, or at least minimized. (Neil Nathan talks about this a lot in Toxic.) Some people are impatient and want to push through herxes, but this can deplete the adrenal system, stress the liver and kidneys, cause rampant inflammation, etc. Some people's systems can handle it, or only herx for a few hours. Others are more sensitive and can herx for weeks, and more severely. People with MCAS, mold issues, and some other underlying conditions may be more prone to bad herxes.
If I herx from a treatment, I back off (either reducing or stopping the treatment) until I have returned to the pre-treatment baseline. This is one reason I prefer liquid forms of treatment - so I can titrate doses to be very small at first. (Talk this over with your doctor if you are using pharmaceuticals, though, as dosages sometimes are complicated.)
