Babesia Treatment I've just started on

This is probably the same protocol that Dr. J uses, in DC area. My PA in Asheville, NC works with him. I'm using Amoxycillin instead of Omnicef, because some kidney enzymes were high when I used it before. Buhner suggests starting with Artemisinin carefully and slowly--he says it's very harsh, and people who react to it could use the herb (Artemesia). The Cryptolepis extract tastes AWFUL! I think it's been said that the alcohol-based Crypto. is a lot more potent than the glycerine extract.

Just preparing to start Round 2 of the "Lyme Induction" protocol. If all goes well, should be starting on this protocol around first of year. Thanks for outlining it for us. Keep us updated on how you do if you don't mind.

Yes, just adding Flagyl for two days, in the 2nd Week. One week off, and then I'll another identical round ("Round 2"--sounds like a prize-fight). And taking probiotics morning and night.

After 2 rounds of Babesia Biofilm "Part A"--then I will do "Part B" (apparently 4 or 5 rounds of that). "Part B" will have Xylitol added (working up to 2 tsp./day, and Lactoferrin added (250mg) 2x/day. And Diflucan added, for 2 days, in the first week (200mg) 2x/day. In the 3rd Week of this protocol, then Coartem is used for 3 days. Coartem 20/120 (4 tablets) 2x/day. Coartem (another antimalarial) has to be used separately from other antibx. 4th Week is off. Rinse & repeat "Part B."

PA in Asheville (AW) says that Xylitol is now being used to break up biofilm and draw bacteria/organisms out. Her notes warned me that the Xylitol can flare symptoms. I remember reading somewhere how sugarless gum (with Xylitol, Mannitol) can actually kill bacteria in the mouth because they are molecularly similar to sugar--and the bacteria gets fooled into trying to feed on it.

I had some thirst and what seemed to be an increase in symptoms especially head related during my first two weeks of Lyme Induction. Now on week off. In pretty severe flare and/or herx with a lot of my symptoms more severe. Also, have a somewhat sore throat with a white spot on one tonsil now. Herx or some other infection perhaps? I've had quite a few symptoms in the throat/neck area. Sent an e-mail off to AW to get her thoughts.
