disulfiram and labels in medical history

If you get prescribed disulfiram by your llmd does this put a flag on your medical history as an alcoholic? Meaning does the presence of the prescription in one’s chart equal drs seeing that and automatically labeling a patient as alcoholic or is there notes of it being for off label use?

I’ve seen how doctors treat medical crises in alcoholics vs non-addicts and it’s appalling. I am nervous that we could get yet another ding against us if it’s on our chart.

There are better drugs to treat alcoholics now.

Well I’m sure my prescription will go through my local pharmacy. But now that I think of it, my hospital doesn’t link up to my pharmacy... however insurance would have it in my file.

You can use goodrx if your that concerned. It was 40% more or so then my insurance coverage was. I asked a similar question when I was prescribed it. The response I got from the doctor was she put down what the treatment was for on the prescription. She did say no one has ever asked her that before.
