I had an awful herx last Friday (and Saturday) due apparently to major die-off of Borrelia. I've been on the Dr. J. Babesia protocol (Part A). I've been looking at several options in detoxing, using Burbur/Pinella for major CNS symptoms, and charcoal. My neighbor (who had severe Lyme and treated for it several years) said that Chlorella made her herx all over again. Wondering about Spirulina . . .

This is the essential combo used in Part A Babesia protocol (Dr. J's), though my LL PA has agreed we should drop down to half doses of the herbs and Malarone:
Omnicef (replacing with Amoxycillin--875mg) (#1) am & pm
Septra DS (#1) am & pm
Mepron (replacing with Malarone—250-100) (#3) am & pm
Artemisinin]/b] (800-1000mg) am & pm
Enula (10 drops) am & pm
Cryptolepis (1/2 – 1 tsp.) 2 – 3x/day

Thanks, "ChristianWithLyme"! I think I'd better try the bentonite, also. Good luck, when you get to the Babesia Biofilm Part A !!! If AW didn't mention it to you, I'd do like I did and start on the herbs and Malarone (or Mepron) SLOWLY. I worked up to the dosage amounts over several days of abx treatment, in the first week. Artemisinin and Crytolepis, especially, are harsh (not to mention tasting terrible!). And the Malarone is strong for Babesia/protozoans and maybe deep and inactive Borrelia. But I think it's also hard on the body--and since I'm taking 1/2 dose of that this week, I'm tolerating the treatment better than last Friday. Just very mild herx symptoms.

I've learned that unless you don't have mercury fillings or heavy metal toxicity... chlorella evidently can cause symptoms to flare and be worse. Because it binds metals.
