So I’ve been in treatment (Oral Ceftin 1000mg) for about three weeks with no signs or feeling of improvement. My ID is looking to do IV if I have no signs after 6 weeks of oral antibiotics. Two months ago I had 3 reactive igg bands (18, 23, 41) Highly correlated with Bb/Lyme. Symptoms for nearly two years moving onto neurological/nervous system. I’m not positive when the bite occurred.
My ID retested me to include tests for coinfections. This time I had Only 2 reactive IgG bands (18, 41) and negative for all coinfections.
I know only my ID can really advise, but with the holiday I’ll be left confused for a little while. Have any of you had similar experiences? Is it possible I’m being cured or do these go reactive and non reactive on and off?
Are you seeing a LLMD?
(Unless the ID dr is lyme Literate- he won’t be knowledgeable in lyme treatment)
Are you only taking the one antibiotic?
To treat these infections two or more antibiotics are needed.
Testing can’t be used to determine whether you’re in remission.
Remission is when you have symptom resolution.
Three weeks isn’t long enough for chronic lyme.
Hang in there - it’s a marathon!
I’m testing out the ID before dropping the money for Dr. J unless I really need to. The ID is luckily quite Lyme literate, but I’m not sure if he’s specifically an LLMD through ILAD or to that extent. If it doesn’t work out I’ll be making my way to an LLMD but he takes my insurance so I figured it can’t hurt to try.
I am on just the one antibiotic. I’m taking a number of vitamin supplements on the side. In the new year once I’m back from out of town I’ve decided to take up the gluten/processed sugar free diet and check out my local infrared saunas if you have thoughts on either of those!
