Hi, folks. As someone who has struggled with POTS off and on for years, I have a BP cuff, pulse oximeter, and portable EKG device at home. Any time I feel palpitations or wooziness, these things can be helpful. I have been doing fairly well lately overall but I think I got slightly dehydrated this morning, so I'm having a POTS flare. I didn't think much of it, but just lounging I was having palpitations, so I used the EKG device and found ST depression. Poking around online, this seems to present with heart attacks and other serious issues for people. For me, it's happening only with tachycardia, while sitting upright or standing up.
I'm wondering if anyone else with POTS experiences ST depression or other heart issues that flare only with tachycardia. Do you think this is cause for concern?
Those of us with dysautonomia get good at dismissing cardiac symptoms because we literally have to - the adrenaline and cortisol from worrying make dysautonomia so much worse! So help me have perspective here. I don't want to go to the hospital during a pandemic!
