Well. I stopped with the rifampin because of the psych herx. I'm currently seeing a herbalist and have been using 2 prescription mixes for the past 2 days with a review in a months time.
However. I am definitely not going to put all my eggs in one basket. I am going to get testing done, maybe, just that I don't know what the point is if they're inaccurate and lyme doctors treat on symptoms anyway.
My concern is the fact that the coinfections can be even worse than the lyme and the herbalist may or may not disagree with me. Anyway I am studying up myself because my health is my most important asset and I have to take charge of it.
I haven't done any antibiotics for nearly a month now. I have some Ceftin, Minocycline, Rifampin in my cupboard. I also have some roxithromycin and mino on the way for some bart but that'll be when the lockdown in India is eased...
As Traveler got better with the herbs. I am hoping to do the same.
The positive tests are pertinent....as they can confirm what some of your symptoms are coming from.
And...if you test positive for Babesia....(for instance), but you don't have the typical symptoms (ie air hunger, sweats) - if you haven't treated it yet...it would make sense to treat it.
Negatives - no - not helpful - as they could be false.
Repeating a lyme Western Blot to gauge if you're in remission is not helpful. You can continue to produce the antibodies even after you're finished treatment.
And a negative - does't mean squat.
