I come on here very sporadically, but at the beginning of my journey I would come on here a lot more hoping to read success stories. I am by no means 100% yet but I definitely am feeling a lot closer to it. I am back to working out (not pre-lyme form but able to do an hour workout and get full sweat going), cheating with food on occasions I want, drinking on occasions, and when I do, I feel the same. One thing about
lyme is that it will feel like you will never get better and it really is tough to deal with. You will get better though, it will just take time as there is no set time frame/ everyone is different. I have no idea what has helped me the most but I think it is just everything together. The first 9-10 months of treating I was pretty much just doing abx. I've been off all abx since oct/nov last year and have pretty much just been taken herbs and vitamins. I started drinking only filtered water pretty much and purchased an infrared sauna that I use 30 min. almost everyday. I purchased a wave 1 and sleep with it every night (uses frequency to "kill" the lyme). I tried magnet therapy a handful times and also did lymphatic drainage a few times. I have no idea if any of this stuff helped or if I would've gotten better anyway but point is you won't know what got you better but rather maybe it's a combination of everything. The first 6 months after starting treatment weren't so bad as I thought i'll treat for a little and be good. The 2nd 6 months of treating were the hardest for me as I started doubting if I would ever feel good again. Somewhere along that 13-14 month mark I finally started feeling good again, having less and less symptoms and the energy to do what I want. Right now I am living a pretty normal life with my wife again and it really does feel amazing when you get that back. So for those struggling like I was, just remember when you do turn the corer it will feel so amazing. Also remember that there is no set time frame as for me it took 13-14 months but for you it could be shorter/longer.
FYI I got bit in July2018 and started treating in Oct.2018.
Also just fyi, i took disulfiram from months 8-12 of treating and this was by far when I was my worst. I lost more weight, my tissues felt like they hurt if I worked out and just staying up throughout the day was really hard. Feeling that tired all day was incredibly rough. After 4 months on it we stopped as my doctor agreed it wasn't working for me. After this I ended up switching doctors to a homeopathic one and shortly after that is when I started to really improve. Looking back, i don't know what role disulfiram played if any but maybe in hindsight it did play a role. Just kind of furthers the point of you gotta try everything cause you don't know which therapy you will respond to.
Hope this helps someone on their journey back to feeling like themselves again.
