The autoimmune protocol diet? No, but close.Better actually: I eat my own custom tested low cytokine diet version of 95% Paleo choices, I was 100% paleo which is zero grains of any type.
Paleo and AIP still can have foods inflammatory to your individual blood.
AIP diet is a healthy "guess" but not specific to your individual needs. Good start though.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are many healing and heath diets. I tried eliminating many groups of foods ect for years.
I got tired of guessing, eliminating, adding back, observing .......
My gut was shot, had lyme, autoimmune, gut candida, sibo, ect.
So I did a food test of 170 individual "American" food items with common spices and additives. Its called Mediator Response Test by LEAP for $350 USD. It measures cytokine release in your blood when mixed with each food.
I was over lyme by then, but healing slow. Your gut is the first step in your immune system and is also Directly tired to brain amino acids and mental health.
In three months one thyroid antibody went normal after 20 years of elevation. In 9 months my thyroid tumor completely dissolved per regular US imaging. More energy, slept better. Happy gut and brain. Gluten was probably my biggest offender. The other offending foods to me were here and there, some odd ones too (suprized).
If I eat even remotely bad for a few days (winter holidays), thing turn worse again. Early 50's and still only 10-12% body fat, I work out, but not a whole lot, cleaner eating certainly helps there too.
So Ive added in a few items that are not Paleo, but have natural ingredients that are not offensive to my body.
With recent exception- I discovered a couple great G/F beers, ha ha...yummy too. I drank almost zero alcohol for two years - its not good for me per test (the yeast and alcohol) and my liver so I will never indulge.
But now I want a great G/F non-alcohol beer lol (they dont make one yet). . I can do w/o hard liquor no problem (dont like it), so I dont go there.
