hey all,
knowing the absolute lack of papers tracking chronic lyme patients that have also contracted Covid, i am posting a cohort study recently released with people suffering from MS that got hospitalized with Covid.
Since MS and chronic lyme are commonly confused as both presentation and diagnostic (and often "treatment") i thought this may prove useful.
Bottom line is, there are no extra risks for people with MS to have severe Covid, other than neuro disability, obesity and age, which are independent risk factors anyway. Even if you are on DMTs, risks are no different...
Good news, i guess....
"Findings In this cohort study of 347 patients with MS, risk factors for severe forms of COVID-19 were neurological disability, age, and obesity, but no association was found between disease-modifying therapies exposure and COVID-19 severity."
