I think this is one of those things for which you are going to get opinions and no facts, since this is not a well-studied methodology scientifically. The people who know about meridians and energy medicine will tell you to go for it, and the people who think that stuff is nonsense will tell you not to bother. I think you should go with what feels best to you. I would give it a try, personally.
I think the biggest concern is whether they insist that you buy remedies from them as opposed to letting you buy them yourself elsewhere, as this (to me) sometimes indicates folks who are out to swindle underserved sick people who cannot prove whether or not a practice is legitimate. I saw someone who practices this as well as NIS (neurological integration system) and he charged me an enormous amount of money, would not let me photograph anything (I do this when I want to look something up later and do more research), and insisted I purchase remedies from him. I saw him twice because a friend swore by his services, but I found no benefit from my two visits and did not return.
That's not to say that there's nothing to these approaches. I think that there is potential for them to be helpful. But as with anything that can't be proven as a scam, some unethical people will be drawn to those practices. My advice is to vet the practice, basically, and trust your instincts if you get a bad vibe.
