Who are some of your favorite figures in the community. I'm not talking about practitioners/doctors that just work with patients. I'm talking about people who might work with individuals but do more. They bring attention to the issues, bring information to the masses, share their tactics/thoughts on how to recover and get well. Mine are Better Heath Guy, Buhner, Jill Carnahan. Also where it's more than just Lyme but it's one of the main points. Nice to hear some other people's picks that I might need to check more eventually.

Dr MR has a very informative site that I recently got into. Microbe Formulas and their founders publish informative articles and have a talk show on Wednesdays. Dr Rawls has something, too, but I am not as familiar with his.

Another vote for MR, he's very generous with his knowledge. And the same goes for Buhner.

I've always been a big fan of Bill Rawls, particularly how much information he provides as well as the way he conceptualizes these infections.

And of course Stephen Buhner.

Neil Nathan's book Toxic was a big deal for me, too, and the few email newsletters hI have received from him have been valuable.

I like MR because he provides very straightforward protocols that probably are helpful for someone new to all of this who does not have an LLMD with whom to work (or can't afford one). I also appreciate that he offers options for pharmaceuticals as well as more integrative approaches, so people can tailor their treatment depending on which avenue makes them feel most comfortable.

I'm on one of MR's Tier 1 treatments for Bart - have others had success following his guidelines?

I'll also second MR, have also found him to be very generous in sharing valuable knowledge about treatments, approaches, antibiotics, protocols;

I also think Biofilms are worth learning about.

burrascano and jones are the og's of dissemination of truth@ lyme . scott forgren of better health guy started on lymenet flash . there are vets on there like brussels and even brian rosner . jill c is an ok functional duc but she missed lyme in my folks for 7+ years treating peripherals until it became trendy when jay davidson made the lyme summits . i love reading the site of alan macdonald spirodemtia.org and eva sapi's work and any posts from our own Georgia Hunter on this forum for their scientific meat. ginger savely has a good approach . ellie lobel has an amazing story and was a joy to meet. pioneers like pat wagner and charles mraz and hulda clark . homage to the david martz and neil spectors , rest his soul. buhner is great as introduction to tcm and herbs . i learned most about bart from his books and the galaxy labs videos . even jernagen and jemsek have built little empires to help people . horowitz tried to rename lyme to msids and teach the french ducs , his books on how to get better covers a lot bases . i learned a bit of detoxing and herbs from our very own 'traveler' on healing well. and lastly but not least brenda from real food rebel had a great parasite recipe and many tips like the tired of lyme folks and the lyme ninja lately hs some cool stuff . im forgeting some personal practioners that ive skimmed and adopted their modalities and techniques but anything by doctor klinghardt where he isnt selling something proprietary is usually solid gold if u can make thru the accent... im sure there is more noteworthy warriors on front not mentioned...

Great list, blue!

I second Brenda from real food rebel. It was her site that gave me hope and introduced me to Stephen Buhner. Unfortunately, I didn’t follow her path and wish now that I had. I might have made progress if I had. Specifically, she did a number of things for the gut before and during treatment with Buhner’s protocols. I skipped over those out of fear, impatience, and not having the willpower to stick with very strict diets, although I did do her green smoothies and found them very beneficial.

Brenda also comments in her story that she often saw others on the forums not getting well because they would never take high enough doses of the herbs for a long enough time for fear of herxing. From reading her stories, it’s clear she pushed through a lot of herxing, taking breaks here and there.

I dare say she is pretty spot on in her assessment. Buhner does talk a lot about herbs need to be taken in fairly large doses to be effective, although he did report some have recovered with tiny doses. Buhner often cites the Chinese doses of different herbs and they are many times higher than the Ltme protocol doses. I believe one difference is the Chinese doses are taken by people who customarily use herbs in medicine and as food and don’t have Lyme.

I have not had the courage, willpower, or cognitive focus to follow in Brenda’s steps. I have trouble starting things and following through. When things get hard or scary, I bail.
