Candida and antibiotics question

I was just on fluconazole a few weeks ago before starting antibiotics. In the past my candida has covered up any potential die off/herx on antibiotics. Now that I’ve been on fluconazole and Candida cleared up, I started antibiotics again and have herxed since the Candida is gone. I had to stop the fluconazole before going on the antibiotics because there are drug interactions and you can’t take them together, but I am on nystatin now. However, I only herxed for two days. So I’m wondering how long after being on antibiotics would Candida come back. Or is this unlikely? I feel like I should’ve herxed longer.

I was on fluconazole for over two weeks! And I believe my doctor said it interacts with rifabutin.

I'm curious - how does having Candida overgrowth prevent you from herxing from antibiotic-related die-off? Are you saying that antibiotics don't have an antimicrobial effect if Candida is too prevalent? Or that you just odn't feel the herx because you're already so messed up from Candida symptoms? Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post.

What are your Candida symptoms? Have they flared recently? Candida can become imbalanced very quickly in some people. Are you on a Candida-preventive diet, probiotics, etc.?

Huh! I didn't realize that Candida overgrowth could impede antibiotic effectiveness.
