Mainstream will hopefully acknowledge more reasons for high glucose besides type 1 and 2 diabetes someday.
Stress / constant cortisol release can create high glucose by signaling the liver to release it for fight or flight response.
Lyme is stress. If someone has anxiety with lyme, its not unusual for high cortisol will be part of it. Holy basil help my anxiety and glucose. This was partially my case and Ive never had high or even moderate body % fat and eat well. That started about
ten years ago when my lyme anxiety was getting worse.
My A1c and daily glucose are normal today post lyme with no medication. Its higher normal, but normal. I exercise, certainly not daily though and im entering mid-fifties.

My sister had diabetes but overate and did not exercise- her easy correction of this took her off meds. Its was 100% lifestyle for her.

Valproate certainly sounds interesting the way it works but id only try it after not being able to resolve it or finding the cause.
