Dear Patients & Friends,
In these uncertain times, with Covid-19 coronavirus affecting every one of us worldwide and changing the way we work, interact and function in our daily lives, it has been no exception for us here at the BCA-clinic. With border and city lock- downs coming into place, it has impacted our patients significantly, with many of them no longer able to travel to us for treatment.
Scientists and medics worldwide confirm that this virus is continuing to spread and that it is expected to take some time to bring it under control globally. Our clinic treats patients who tend to be unwell or often have very suppressed immune systems, and I need to consider the health and safety of all my patients and do what I think is best for the greater good of everyone.
It is therefore with great sadness that I write to you today, as the founder and owner of the BCA-clinic, to inform you that the BCA-clinic will no longer be accepting patients at our day clinic. The BCA-lab and BCA-research facilities will continue to operate as normal as these teams work in a closed door and protected environment. We are in the process of finding a solution for our current patients who are currently undergoing treatment. We will be able to announce this shortly.
If you are an existing patient or have a planned appointment with us, we will do everything we can to reschedule this for a future date as soon as we know when this is all expected to end. For those patients currently on a Lyme treatment protocol from myself or any of our BCA doctors, we will be in touch with you shortly as to how we can continue to treat and support you in the weeks and months to come.
Lyme disease is my passion and my calling. I started treating Lyme patients over 30 years ago and have dedicated my career to it. One of my daughters has been ill with Lyme disease over the years and so I know only too well how this insidious disease affects not just the patient, but their family and whole life.
I therefore want to reassure all, that irrespective of circumstances, I am still as dedicated as ever to working with the Lyme community worldwide and the patients who find their way to me. I look forward to being able to meet and treat patients again in the very near future when it is safe to do so, and continue to apply myself to improving the research, diagnosis and treatment of tick borne diseases.
If you would like to stay up to date with the latest news regarding our clinic and any new developments, please register below so that I can keep you personally informed.
On behalf of the team and myself at the BCA-clinic, I would like to thank all of you for your support, loyalty and understanding. I would also like to thank my fellow colleagues and staff for their support in doing their best in these challenging times.
Stay healthy and be safe
Dr. Carsten Nicolaus
