CBD Oil

Have any of you tried CBD oil? I am considering trying it for my symptoms. Does anyone in Canada know any reputable suppliers I can order from? Girlie I know you tried it once, who did you order from?

I ordered it from the Green Cross - they were shut down even though they were supplying CBD products as well as marijuana to those who had dr notes.
I believe they were shut down when marijuana became legal - they weren’t one of the chosen dispensaries. What a shame - they were very nice and helpful - lots of knowledge and experience.

I had high hopes for the cbd - retired LLMD E Murakami was recommending it and it did seem to be helping lots of lyme patients.

I haven’t been on Dr M fb site in a long time ...

there was a very interesting interview on one of the functional health guys channels with a premium producer of CBD oils and Medical grade marijuana. will see if I can find a link

the thing that stuck with me was
1 - it really does seem to have incredible potential demonstrated by high-quality studies
2 - just how much was typically needed for therapeutic effect - it was a lot!
and
3 - that to buy this amount from any reputable supplier was going to be way more expensive than I could realistically afford ( it seems the effective dose was pretty much a full bottle a day of most available brands).

made me think growing it would be the way forward - but they would lock me up! lol

There are so many suppliers now that it's become legal, I am so confused which kind to buy. The testimonials on Dr. Murakamis facebook page are so convincing. People are swearing by it's effects and have gotten their lives back. It's worth a try I guess, I'm at my whits end. Too bad Green Cross shut down. I would've ordered from them. I just don't know what kind to start with. I contacted Dr Murakami, just waiting on a response.

Can’t you legally grow hemp plants?

as I understand it it. CBD isn't illegal to sell in the UK. But you still need a license to grow hemp in the UK and even then you may only process it for its fiber and seeds - the rest must be destroyed.

in the EU the legislation being applied is under "Novel Foods"
which are defined as foods not being consumed prior to 1997

given that cannabis is the most widely distributed plant on the planet - taken by humans everywhere they traveled for over 4000yrs - this is frankly laughable.

CBD does not have any antimicrobial activity that I'm aware of, so it would not be a herx. That's a very unusual response to CBD, but I'm certainly no stranger to unusual responses. One drop would be less than 1mg, right, unless you have an incredibly concentrated oil? Is this a CBD-only product?

I reviewed my sources, Girlie, and you're absolutely right - like most herbs, CBD does have some antimicrobial properties. I think I filed it in my brain as non-antimicrobial because doses big enough to have significant antimicrobial effects would be cost-prohibitive, so CBD proponents tend to recommend other herbs with stronger antimicrobial activity if that's the main goal. But yes, CBD can be anti-microbial and immunomodulating.
