as I understand it it. CBD isn't illegal to sell in the UK. But you still need a license to grow hemp in the UK and even then you may only process it for its fiber and seeds - the rest must be destroyed.

in the EU the legislation being applied is under "Novel Foods"
which are defined as foods not being consumed prior to 1997
given that cannabis is the most widely distributed plant on the planet - taken by humans everywhere they traveled for over 4000yrs - this is frankly laughable.
