I have experienced many of your same symptoms during the course of this illness. I have yet to figure out how to get rid of them. I do know that doxy intensified all of my symptoms. IV Rocephin helped for awhile as did treating Babesia. I still struggle with balance, lightheadedness and difficulty walking some days. Some days I feel it is more arthritic in nature but none of my labs point to that. It is very frustrating.

I agree when in 1st realized I may have lyme /bart/ Babs was on doxy for something completely different. Got sick to my stomach vomit weak dizzy thought I was dying and literally wanted to take my own life. Now I realize I wasn't allergic or something was wrong it was a really bad herx and that was just the beginning let me tell u. Also while on clindamycin and augmentin for a tooth infection I experienced serious herx my face was pale white passing out/ blacking out dizzy nausea weak. Im pretty sure I heard clindamycin has an effect on bartonella if I'm correct. I didn't think I could HV bart bk then bt I put the whole puzzle together now

I cant believe you have been treating for two years and still have this issue. What treatment are you on?
How do you manage these symptoms? How do you function? I am almost bedridden because of this. This issue is very new to me. 4 weeks ago I was up and walking without a problem. I am not saying I felt good but I did not have an issue with walking. By and chance do you have nausea too?
I dont know where you live but someone just referred me to a dr in Connecticut. They are closed today but I am going to call them tomorrow to get info. Its close to 3 hours for me but If i can get better its worth it.

glad I found this comment! I am in CT also do u think u can email me the doc who your going to see? I've also had weakness and nausea for years and this is before I realized it was lyme bart babesia rickettsia mold mcas etc. Tudca changed me a lot it actually did some good. Sida acuta brings out my biggest herx and it targets babesia and bartonella so that's wt I'm guessing has me bedridden all these years

I had these exact symptoms and treated Lyme and coinfections for 2 years with antibiotics. I noticed an improvement when moving out of an apartment. I got about 30% better.

I attributed it to taking antibiotics for Lyme and kept ignoring the fact that it could've been due to mold. Eventually I stopped antibiotics and did the Great Plains mycotoxin test which came back high for OA.

I've been doing some hardcore detoxing with Cholestyramine, Phosphatidylcholine, Liposomal Glutathione and high dose omegas. I've been on this plan for about a month and feeling slightly better but it's an up and down road.

Long story short - consider mold as I feel that it is often overlooked.

Thank you for your reply. I do plan on checking for mold. Hopefully when I see the new dr in december we will discuss mold.
I wish you continued success. It is very up and down. It can happen in a flash. One minute ok and then suddenly out of nowhere it can turn real bad.

I saw in one of your posts here you mentioned a tooth infection in the past. Dental stuff is like mold, it can be a linchpin for those with Lyme/co. Do you have any root canals? Have you seen a biological dentist? If not, I would find one near you on IAOMT website. If dental isn’t taken care of, you can spin your wheels for years.

It returned in a different fashion in 2015-2016 after an upper respiratory infection set off whole body dysfunction and inflammation. After finally getting to a knowledgeable doctor, I learned I was suffering from mold toxicity and tested positive for Lyme.

After moving and starting detox for mold, the balance issues got even worse at times. It is better now, and I don’t have too much issues anymore.

For those who have these symptoms long term, I would recommend you seriously consider the following:
- testing for mycotoxins
- trialing Cholestyramine (very potent toxin binder)
- look into other toxins like heavy metals if the first two have no effect

My entire health went downhill after an upper respiratory infection. I caught the illness from an person who was sick. It was not a reaction to a tickn bite. After the infection went away I went into a CFS type illness. Then stomach issues and then the journey began.

Glad you are doing better now.

30 years ago for about a ten year span I would suddenly have vertigo and would almost fall over a couple times month. Some people were even close when it happened a few times, once driving too. Once motorcycle riding, I pulled over almost fell over and laid there for five minutes off to the side.

I would feel uncoordinated sometimes for hours after.

It wasnt POTS as I was not getting up from a lower point.

Had balance, hearing and cardio / heart tests, All was fine lol.

This thankfully went away on its own long before lyme treatment even started.

Hi Astroman I am wondering if you know if my continued problems with Dysarthria and off balance could be related to Hypothyroidism? I have an appt with my LLMD at 2:30 to discuss results I just just received from labs and my TSH is high at 4.76 and my LDL 130. I had been told last year I had a small nodule but my free T3 & T4 labs were normal. I know I will have to get the Free T3 & T4 labs done for this now to check. I am asking because Im still treating Bart and assumed these are bart symptoms but has not improved and I have been treating Lyme, Bart and babs for 2 yrs and these 2 symptoms have robbed me of my life. Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve had hypothyroidism for over 30 years. This off balance feeling I have started a few years into my Lyme journey.
Also I have head pressure and head tingling. All Lyme and co related.

wym as in biological dentist? I hv cavities more in the molar/ wisdom teeth and fillings maybe 2 or 3. Funny u mention this because when I started up sida acuta my brain burned thought it may be targeting dental spirochetes. I've also hear a lyme western blot also has certain bands that point to a spirochete infection bt not wt type. I had a tooth pulled 2 yrs ago and ever since then my gums turned a brown color look bony and are kind of refeeding so I HV an appt. Tomarrow they're sending me to an orthodontist. Mind u when I got that tooth removed the lady yanked for a while hr was in agony. Ended up getting a bad tooth probably gum infection lasted 3 weeks was awful I'll look into wt u said thank you

A biological dentist is very different from a conventional dentist. They are often SMART certified for safe amalgam removal. They can do compatibility testing if you need fillings or any type of dental materials to ensure you do not have adverse reactions to the materials. They understand why root canals are bad. Some do cavitation surgery. They may use ozone. They do not use mercury fillings. They understand how dental health affects the rest of the body and vice versa.

I know this is old but I am suspicious of mercury and or heavy metals is it bad combination if positive for mold also?

Walkingbyfaith, this weekend I believe I was exposed to mold at friends house, shortly after I left I had a spinning vertigo spell, which I haven’t had in 5 years. I couldn’t walk and thought I was going to have to go to the ER but I realized that they couldn’t do anything.

If I was only there a short time is it only a reaction for that one time or does it cause longtime damage?

I know you have been exposed several times.

I don’t think it’s long term. Random exposures can take anywhere from hours to a week or more for me to fully recover from.

about heavy metals, I have read things in the past that lead me to believe that mold, heavy metals, and parasites may be interconnected. Basically, my impression was that heavy metals may make you more susceptible to both mold and parasites.

I had all amalgams safely replaced in 2018, but I never did the metals testing. I imagine I do have heavy metals, probably more than one.

I am testing for heavy metals now I took a hair test however I have dyed hair and although I’m told it doesn’t effect the minerals the Facebook book group said without the dye my results are positive and does meet Cutler rule for mineral derangement, but can’t say with surety because of the dye.
