Happy Thanksgiving to My American Comrades!!

Staying home this year........Maybe have a campfire out back (snow thawed and its aboove freezing...nice!!!).

Then.....might watch "planes trains and automobiles". Funny Turkey day flick for sure.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We are not celebrating due to covid this year but still have plenty to be thankful for and hey at least I don't have to see my crazy sister this year. Hope you all are well or at least well enough.

"Turkey day" can be whatever you want it to be. Ive never traveled far for T day festivities like some do, but did so close by, so I always look at it as a time to relax. But then I cant stop thinking of people I knew who are no longer above the ground and remember how easy it is to take life for granted.

Seems the wild Turkeys are all taking cover this week, usually all over the place! But how smart can something be that drowns in the rain? ha ha...

In the north, you never know what T day weekend will be like, it can be winter or extended fall. Ive had everything from snowmobile trips to hiking and mnt biking in the same geographical area. Ive never had my canoe in the water this late, but since the earlier thin lake ice has mostly thawed again (still water small ponds are frozen) , I might paddle in Saturday's possible low 40'sF and sunshine, just to say I did it this late! I'll stick to the shallow shoreline though (as the water is dangerously cold),. ...... can pretend i'm a 1800's French fur trader while im at it .....the kid in me will never go away.

I saw a family of turkeys, on Tuesday when I went went walking. I don't think there is turkey hunting around here....

I am extremely thankful for my family and friends... Wouldn't have thought I would be where I am now five years ago.

Ive rarely worked the the day after T day, its always a toss up using today to get things done and / or lay around and be unproductive (which is productive for your brain in a way).

Its chilly out before the warm up sat, but at least the sun's shining on this cloudless morning - very low at high noon thru the south window. Im envying you southerners right now. Your sun is a little higher and closer.

I always wonder if im the only one who does this- I relaxed on the floor 15 min shirtless in the beam of sunshine, and it really feels good! A little island/reggae music in the background tricks you even more. Well, time to coat-up and head outside.

I watched a Thanksgiving special that I found on Amazon Prime. It’s about an hour long compilation of really old films pertaining to Thanksgiving and history of America. The films were all black and white and before my time. Some were probably from the 1940’s.

When I read the title "An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving," I immediately thought of a large family around the table...drunk...smoking...arguing...and hurling insults at each other.

Ah, memories of childhood. It's easy to get nostalgic this time of year.

I can't wait for Christmas.
