I actually have all of Buhner’s books, as they are not that expensive. At some point, they may go out of production, so I made sure I got them.
While his books do contain the full protocols for all the infections he covers, they are not easy reading. The books are technical and scientific in terminology, which is difficult for a person who is not science literate. Additionally, he discusses herbs primarily by their scientific names rather than their common names, but uses both. It was frustrating to me, and I wrote “Japanese knotweed” in the book wherever he had “Polygonum cuspidatum.” I eventually became literate, but it was hard work.
I also have his Herbal Antibiotic and Herbal Antiviral books. I consider his books to be the most thorough literature a layperson can read regarding these infections. He spent a year minimum reading all the scientific papers and research in existence on the infections, as well as the written data on the herbs and pulled the data together in a readable book for anyone to read. No one else has done this to my knowledge.
As a companion to Buhner’s Healing Lyme 2nd edition, I highly recommend Dr Rawls’ Unlocking Lyme book. He lays out the various treatment options and the pros and cons of each. Very easy to read and follow. Lots of good information to help people sort out their own path.
