To be clear, I don't know what harm the vaccine does, but I'm sure they kill some people and injure others. It is also clear that the current vaccines are largely an experiment. Another factor I keep in mind is that we don't need a vaccine because we have effective treatments, so any deaths from the vaccine is too many.

dcd2103, I don't think it's just the vaccines that are causing cases to fall, as they have been dramatically falling since early January. Also, just because some people are injured and killed by vaccines does not mean all are.

Does the vaccine work?

We have a virus with survival rate of greater than 99% (w/o treatment) and most likely a full recovery rate of greater than 99% of infection totals.

We have treatments (leaving aside the cheap prevention and early treatment protocols).

We have a vaccine.

Yet we're still told we have to wear a mask, social distance, and can't go back to our normal lives (including those who have had Covid and have had the vaccine).

Do you think the vaccine works?

So youre telling me, if you take 1000 people w/ no vaccine, and 1000 people who have taken the vaccine, and expose them all to covid, there wont be less people who get covid in the vaccine group?

Perhaps this is a better way to report on the situations.

Real journalism let's the reader take in the news and draw a conclusion.

One of perhaps the more dangerous types of disinformation is when a story is reported on but SPUN in a certain way. The reader is told what to think about the story.

What did you think of the "spin" that was put on that Spanish nursing home story by the the GlobalTimes??

In the internet age particularly, headlines are just the worst. The content of every news story will be framed to a degree though, sometimes without any journalistic integrity.

The story above is not so bad imo and it is informative.. though would like to see more about what she is calling "disinformation" from the CDC..

Also would be interesting to have more info about who is making the decision to vaccinate in these facilities. Are family members ever involved? The one report about a shot being administered to someone who was “unresponsive in [her] room.” was particularly alarming.

Since the article goes through every death reported in the VAERS, I think there should be a little more effort put forth in contextualizing that info. She does cite the CDC here:

"'Surveillance data to date do not indicate excess deaths among elderly patients receiving COVID-19 vaccinations.' Overall, the agency says, the number of deaths at long-term care facilities after COVID-19 vaccinations is no higher than what would be expected to occur naturally."

..and there's a WHO statement:

"deaths are in line with the expected, all-cause mortality rates..."

..but rather than leave the reader to take their word, I think she should have dug up the evidence. I'm sure she's aware of the distrust readers of the epoch times will often have in those institutions.

And why prime this quote from CDC rep. (in bold) with so much skepticism when there's obvious reason for uncertainty:

"The agency didn’t directly answer the question of whether it’s safe for people to get vaccinated while they have an active COVID-19 infection. A CDC spokesman said that deferring vaccination is recommended in those instances, but didn’t say whether it was due to a safety issue.

'Vaccination of persons with known current SARS-CoV-2 infection should be deferred until the person has recovered from the acute illness (if the person had symptoms) and criteria have been met for them to discontinue isolation,' says the CDC. 'This recommendation applies to persons who develop SARS-CoV-2 infection before receiving any vaccine doses as well as those who develop SARS-CoV-2 infection after the first dose but before receipt of the second dose.'"

So yeah, some poor framing going on there, but overall a decent article. Also worth noting, it's a long article and while that statement from the CDC gives somewhat of an "answer" to the headline, it was saved for the very end.

Not to get too deep into the linguistics, but when does the "experiment" officially end? Is it a time factor 1 yr, 5 yrs? Or is it when they go beyond EUA and are fully approved?

I realize the answer will be different for everyone.. I probably would have stopped using "experiment" after EUA, or shortly after the vaccines began being used outside of the trials. Now I guess I would call them.. "new"?

That reminds me - I got a call from the clinic to book my next in-person appt. I told the assistant that I will not be flying to DC in a few weeks!

Yeah I'm ok with the headline saying "after the vaccine" as long as it also clearly says "dead from COVID".. if that were the headline you first came across, we wouldn't have this quote from you a page back:

Distorting things? I quoted the quote you quoted

This is the real word happening in front of our eyes "my friend" and this is only a report that had the luck and chance of not being covered up, because there are many many more like this being ignored, at the expense of claims like, "it was not related and blah blah, you know the rest..

Shocking, shocking... i have no words... sorry for this, i had to say that after seeing this huge number of victims documented on the site and not openly shared by media, authorities, pharma, why would they do that?? Its tragic.. No wonder many people are afraid to take the mRNA vaccines..

If I didn’t have my illness I would take the vaccine as I believe the positives are greater than the risk compared to getting Covid. But with my understanding of treating it and that I had allergic reactions in the past and had to walk around with an Epi-pen for a long time, I'm not as sure.

It's likely that if I get a summer job I have applied for, it's going to be in person with one hour of public transportation each day. And then I think it's likely that my university will be in person in the autumn. But I will have a few months to decide.

Perhaps the title could have been worded better, but the article seemed a bit balanced to me.

Just because I believe Communists are experts in disinformation and manipulation does not mean I think everything they say is a lie.

Here's the thing:

You will only accept the results of an investigation if they say what you want them to say. I, on the other hand, have no stake in any of this and will accept the results regardless.

... and there may be competing interests that we can address, even from the CDC, WHO, etc. but "Communism" (at least in the way you are defining it) is not relevant to this discussion.

China seems to want to sell more of their own vaccine to other countries.. consider that when you read the Global Times.
