I have a sore tongue that feels burnt and dry much of the time. When I stick my tongue out, I have scalloped edges, especially on one side that is red and slightly swollen. The taste buds on top feel dry and scorched. The surface looks very rough and bumpy. Right now I have a yellow coating.
I have also had soreness in the back of my throat. When I looked with a flashlight, I saw some red areas in different places. It is very uncomfortable at times. It disturbs my sleep and scares me in the night.
My mother and I both get burning in the tongue and mouth from mold exposure and possibly chemicals. I have been very worried because this has gotten worse, and I know we have mold.
However, my mother’s tongue doesn’t look abnormal like mine, and it doesn’t disturb her sleep. I get very thirsty and dry at night. I drink two jugs of water from the time I go to bed until I get up.
I have used coconut oil several times, but can’t tell any difference. Tonight it’s really bad. I’m dreading going to bed. Haven’t slept much the last 3 nights because of this.
I have been on abx twice in the last few weeks. I have been on oral Nystatin and Fluconazole for a long time. I have been taking extra probiotics and S. boullardii since I started the first abx, but it hasn’t seemed to affect this tongue and mouth thing.
Is there anything else this could be besides mold exposure?
Has anyone else had this? What caused it? What helped?
