Anyone do better on Clarithromycin vs azithromycin in terms of G8 issues?

i have read that Clarithromyxin is thought to be better for Bart and maybe lyme.
Bart docs tend to refer to clarithromycin to be harder for Bart to develop resistance to - something bart does fairly easily to Azithro - which is why combos with 2-3 drugs or more is often advised

Lyme doesn't form anti-microbial resistance in the normal sense ( has other mechanisms to defeat antimicrobial that come under persistence rather than genetic adaptation based resistance )

other than that they are fairly similar - the main differences seem to be in the pharmacokinetics - one seems to concentrate much more in the tissues and the other in the plasma.

the side effects profile is highly individual thing so will be a suck it a see thing i think

Clarithromycin is a P450 inhibitor. In treating Bartonella, Dr. M prefers Clarith over Azith because it offsets Rifampin in the protocol which is a P450 inducer. Even Steven in a sense. Apparently, Azith is almost neutral in the P450 event. I started with Azith for 5 weeks and then switched to Clarith while taking Rifampin and Mino.
