Bartonella and female hormonal issues

Can Bartonella play with female hormones? I know Lyme can, but I'm interested more so in what Bartonella can do? I've heard it can give you insulin resistance. My blood work has been fine ( I know I know in the Lyme world that means nada!)

I struggled with irregular periods as a teen and was put on the pill due to a raised testerstetone level. As I got older I naturally stayed on it when I became sexually active. I was on the pill for almost 18 years.

Adding to that I always had issues with excessive body hair and facial acne. I was put on that controversial acne drug Accutane for 6 months when I was 14 and it was truly a miracle, but didn't last.

I carry all my fat in my face and midsection and losing that has always been an issue. My arms, legs and buttocks are skinny, alittle too skinny. I've been mistaken for being pregnant a few times.

My facial acne and body hair the last 2 years has gotten worse, coincided around the time I had my first ever appointment with my LLMD and began treatment I believe. (My regular Ob/Gyn did hormone levels and they were normal). Since I've been a young teen I've had literally hundreds of thyroid tests, all normal. Again I know you can't count on blood tests alone for the final verdict. The million dollar question, has Bartonella been the culprit the whole time?

I didn't find out I had Bartonella right away and began treating last summer, so it's been not even a year. As you can see in my past posts its been hell finding a protocol that works.

Not only has Bartonella treatment added to my depression and anxiety but these potential hormone issues too. Diets never helped.

I'm truly self conscious of my body. With warmer weather coming I have to buy new clothes for my new job and I'm dreading it. As women it's hard dealing with any kind of sickness esp Lyme and Co's. Not being believed for so long in the main stream medical community...yea I could go on, you guys get it! But when it messes with hormones it's 1 more thing to have to battle.

The weight gain, large belly, acne and excessive body hair is really concerning. The stretch marks too.

I just turned 36, I believe my days of hormonal birth control are finished and as mentioned before diets were a no go ( keto was hell I barely lasted 2 weeks).

What gives?

my partner has lyme and bartonella

very difficult to determine which is causing which symptoms - but after being like clockwork for all her life - since getting ill she starting having irregular periods - along with lots of odd hormonal symptoms - breasts swelling, difficulty controlling weight, intense food cravings, extreme PMT - missed several periods entirely - or highly variable timing - or super light or then super heavy etc etc.

i think its the inflammation that drives the hormone system haywire

@1000 daisies, I had a high testosterone level back when I was 15 years old. The doc never said I had PCOS though....uhhh? But she put me on the pill. As I got older I heard more ppl say birth control pills are just a "band aid", not a good option. All it really did was bring my testosterone levels down and forced me to have a regulated period every month. As mentioned, after 18 years I discontinued the pill for good. Alot of Lyme abx it effects the pill strength, also I have a family history of high BP and blood clots and was advised to find another form of birth control.
