So I spent some time in the Helminth Therapy group on facebook.
Helminths WILL significantly raise your eosinophils shortly after infection/introduction. It will come back down to normal though after about
3m. Here is a graph of the data they provided.
https://ibb.co/25vdqggIn addition, it sounds like the WBC will initially rise, but then comes back down. In the helminth therapy wiki they provide it says that helminth therapy can lower neutrophils/wbc in the long run, but anecdotally I spoke w/ a few people who had been using them for a long time and said that HT was able to increase their WBC in the long run. One guy for example had a baseline 4.0, and it rose to a 5.5 a year or so after doing HT.
I guess its can vary, and depends on the helminth and person, but it does not sound like if one has a chronically suppressed WBC that you should suspect worms.
In addition, initially I read some stories about
people who had trouble and ended up worse off w/ GI problems. The more time I spent though I did find some stories of people who did really well. Sounds similar to FMT, wherein it could go really really well, but there's the risk it goes really poorly as well. Maybe one of those things to consider as a last resort.
I spoke w/ a guy in the group w/ MS who believes that MS is caused by a particular type of bacteria called Clostridum perfringens. He was able to stop his MS progression w/ ABX, but ended up w/ a significantly imparied GI tract as a result. He's doing HT and claims it really helps, both the MS and the GI issues. But he also spoke very highly of Mutaflor and Miyarisan. Basically said that if he comes off those two probiotics, hes non-functional. Made me want to give Mutaflor another shot.
