Health insurance keeps calling for "in home wellness visit"...just no thanks

I got that a few years ago. Once I started costing them money, they suddenly wanted to talk to me about my health.

There wasn't really anything more they could do about Lyme disease that I wasn't already doing, so I mostly just ignored it and they eventually stopped bothering me about it.

I haven't received any calls but that's really disturbing.

"I have nothing to hide" is not the argument we should go for though.
People do have things to hide, and that's perfectly normal (not to be confused with lying though).
Hiding something doesn't mean that what is hidden is wrong.
It's ok not to have everything out in the open.
I close the door when I use the restroom for the same reason.

Also, as someone who works in IT, I would warn people against installing apps on your phone from your insurance company too. Even if it's just an app to pay the bill, it's collecting everything about you on your phone and sending it back to your insurance company (GPS location/Time Stamps/Contacts/Accelerometer).
This is not a conspiracy, you can verify this,... but I won't go into that unless someone wants me to, I'll be happy to explain.

Why does it matter? Well, take GPS for example (this is built into most phones), if you are moving faster than the speed limit and aren't on a train/plane (as according to the GPS), your insurance company will know you were speeding for the second time this week..... And I'm sure you know where I'm going with this.

Anyway, sorry for going off-topic, I think you're handling it great, I wouldn't allow them in either.

Yeah I’m highly suspicious of those so called health advocates. They keep calling and trying to schedule visits. I gave them a small task once (find an in network nutritionist) and they failed and said on that’s not covered. I once tried cooperating with my insurance company and filling my meds at their pharmacy. Meds I’d never been questioned in suddenly raised all these flags and to this day every year now I have to go through this laborious process of getting my midodrine approved. I’ve never trusted them ever since.

I assume they want someone to document my health etc so they can get it into their system and figure out how to cut costs on my case. I.e. drown patients in paperwork till they give up and die. I don’t have proof this is what they’re doing but it’s what I suspect. Although I did read my specific insurance wanted to document all their patients we’re super sick to suck more money from the federal gov’t. But I don’t trust their motives to not use their now nicely organized list of sickest costliest patients to just systematically cut benefits for them after they’re done squeezing every penny out of the federal government.

I have seen so much abuse by doctors and hospitals milking insurance money. Patients with SIBO on linaclotide ($450) instead of antibiotics. Patients with mild prediabetes on sitagliptin ($500) or expensive insulin injections instead of metformin. Patients with adrenal problems and hyponatremia not prescribed steroids but instead told to come in for IV saline, because insurance will pay for that. These people get sicker and sicker and the doctors rake in the dough. It's disgusting.

I am not surprised this type of stuff goes on. It’s hard to tell for sure sometimes if the doctors knowingly and willing do this stuff, or if they are at least partially gullible and believe drug sales reps thinking they can actually help a patient by prescribing whatever the “latest greatest” drug is for xyz illness or symptom.

I think some doctors are easily manipulated by the other players in the corrupt medical system. I suspect younger, newer doctors are more inclined to be money grubbing manipulators. I think they are more likely to view medicine purely as profiteering business venture than older generation doctors. Of course, corruption has no age limits!

Interesting ideas here. I just treat them like solicitors.

And whose to say they are really "working with" my health insurance? I didnt go so far as to ask them to prove it. Scammers keep thinking up new great ideas every day.

Oh I had another weird one recently. After getting prescriptions filled at Rite-Aid I got a call from the "medicine support program". They asked me about one specific drug, and if I had had any side effects. Not sure what that was about. I'm just going to ignore them if they call again.
