To update my above post about
Knox Gelatine, I used a box of it today to make my own Jell-O. I just tried it, in fact, and I thought it was pretty good. It reminded me of my youth.
The actual "Jell-O" product (made by Kraft) contains a variety of ingredients, depending on the favor. Strawberry Jell-O, for example, contains: "sugar, gelatin, adipic acid, artificial flavor, disodium phosphate, sodium citrate, fumaric acid, and red dye #40."
The Knox Gelatine contains: "Gelatine." That's it. I used 100% apple juice (not from concentrate) as the liquid, because that's what the recipe on the box suggested. However, other juices could be used...or, one could just use water.
