I have had Lupus for 20 years and am working with my rheumatologist to control symptoms.
I’m taking Benlysta, CellCept, Prednisone and Plaquenil.

I have had a gastric bypass years ago and it caused a complication called, “candy Cane” showed up after several symptoms emerged. So the plan is to go in a fix it Aug 26. This is a major surgery.

Yesterday I got a small rectangle bruise with a white circle in the center and a bite in it. It was blue like bruise but later turned red. They immediately diagnosed it as Lymes and put me on Doxycycline for 10 days ending June 9.

So I’m wondering if I should even mention the Lymes to the surgeon if it clears up? Will it clear up? What effects would it have anyway?

in my experience lupus symptoms stem from a systemic protozoal infection causing a myriad of symptoms and inflammation flares. rheumies use anti malaria med like plaquinil to keep immune system suppressed . . the trouble with doing that is that pathogens are then allowed to proliferate more easily with a low or no immune system. this is what killed my cousin in her twenties and im sorry to inform you lyme is not cleared with one course or even 30 days of a single antibiotic. it may take a few and while to clear . the doxy may unleash a ' flare' or even give relief but is not by any means curative . welcome keep us posted

You can mention it to the surgeon - but unlikely he will be interested.

10 days is likely not long enough treatment.
Is it possible for you to get your hands on more doxy?
And what is your dosage ?
For Lyme it is 200 mg twice daily.
