Hi Garzie,

Ah I see, yes that makes sense to get to know the people and kind of get an idea how they take care of the meat and all.

Thank you for the backup advice, I will definitely look into that in the future. I like your setup, very crafty! I just hope these programs run on Linux, but a lot of them do these days. At a minimum it will help me to look for alternative programs that do the same job! So thank you again!

It's not the first time this has happened to me so I really appreciate the help.

both programs are windows only I'm afraid Rainy - i am a windows user so optimised for that

am sure there will be equivalents out there for Linux

main things i needed were
- automatable backups for files and operating system ( and including all installed programs )
- easy to configure backup regimes for both files and operating system
- ability to make some kind of bootable rescue media - to use to install the backup image of the system from its external source - eg a USB drive - if the entire OS dies

I remember this post but have not read it all maybe parts of it here and there whenever it pops up.

Note; This is a long post maybe I already added this information sometime ago? It’s a long post I’m not Scrolling throughthe whole thing again.

But I just wanted to add about five years ago when they were really investigating my low immunoglobulins and low T cells they did a couple of thymus gland tests. Since that is where the T cells mature. My thymus glad I checked out fine that was good to know.

I get the feeling I may have mentioned this before, here I go repeating myself

No worries astroman, that's great information for us all to know. I'm interested in doing a similar test. You don't happen to know what kind of test it was or the name of it do you? Thanks for the input!

i don't recall if you mentioned getting it tested before Astro

would be interested to know what the tests for it were

the thymus gland is an odd thing in humans - and i think in most mammals

there seems to be some debate in medical circles about what its function is in later life
-some seem to maintain it doesn't do much as it has atrophied
-others state that it still has important functions

as the gland is known to shrink and become much less active after adolescence in humans and most mammals - and they don't really seem to know why that is - just some theories

The “T” in T cells is for thymus, and the “B” in B-cells is for bone marrow

I don’t remember the exact test now but there was also imaging.

Or, ...maybe it was only imaging. 🤔. I just googled this and there doesn’t seem to be much more for it than imaging.

I don’t know if the dye that I took was specific for the thymus gland or just normal for abdominal an cavity MRI or CT scan. I also had an old school x-ray first. I had a lot of immune specific blood work at the same time, one for a type of leukemia too, ...glad the leukemia part came out OK. That was probably looked into because of also having low B cells.

I think this was in 2018 now that I remember so a while ago I guess. I had a lot going on then so this is kind of foggy to remember.

I get all my immune bloodwork repeated this November, which is more related to Girlies white blood cell post than this one. If I remember, way off in November lol, I’ll ask if there is/was any specific Thymus gland lab work.

(They accidentally discovered my adrenal tumor from that imaging with the MRI or CT scan. I think I’m due for another one of those I had two years ago also. Thankfully it was Not getting bigger.)

just resurrecting this subject because a new paper has been published showing that stem cells do in fact exist in the thymus gland of adults - capable of differentiating into many different cell types that make thymus gland tissue.

As far as myself finding whatever Thymus testing I had (mentioned in this thread), I never found it. I should have started a better filing system for my health test reports years ago vs the multiple "pile system". I think it was the cancer blood Dr who tested my thymus vs the immune clinic along with varieties of Leukemia testing before settling for low Primary Immune as a diagnosis.

Even my immune clinic really doesn't know much about the immune system. They just compare my test #'s every year in hopes that it remains stable (stable but at a very low level, still better than decline).

None of us "health advocate veterans" ever thought we'd dig this deep into our health years ago though. Its never ending.

Thank you Garzie for resurrecting this interesting subject and the helpful links that you provided. This is really interesting.

Also astroman, in regards to the comment you posted, I completely agree with that. There really is such a disconnect between us the patients and many of these clinics. They often just don't know, like you said.

I hope these therapies will reach us sooner than later. We could all use a break, or even just another piece to fix this puzzle.

As you know, I've done the Thymosin Alpha 1 peptide. Recently however, I was thinking of trying a different, yet similar peptide: Thymalin. If I do decide to do it, I will let you both know smile
