I've tried a lot of different things over the years to improve my sleep with some success, but most were short lived. The latest attempt to improve my health was with TrueDark glasses and it wasn't about sleep. They block blue light and some of the yellows and greens. I've looked at computers screens daily for 29 years so I got them for work after reading some of Dave Asprey's work. I had no idea they would help with sleep. Every day I've worn them, I sleep an hour longer than usual and wake up still sleepy meaning my mind isn't racing. I can stay in the bed a couple hours longer when I wear them. The one day I didn't wear them was back to normal. The encouraging thing is that I got the extra hour of sleep while eating foods that take an hour of sleep away. So instead of sleeping 4 hours, I slept six.
I went into the literature after seeing what they did and found that the blue light affects the melatonin production and ultimately GABA production. I'm increasing my GABA which is helping me sleep. I wasn't a believer before, but I am now.
