I could talk a lot about
this topic, LOL!!
I am from the deep south, so I have lived my whole life in heat and humidity. I have also had signs of bartonella and possibly babesia since childhood, so my existence hasn’t been normal.
I grew up in the days of air conditioning, unlike my parents. When they were in school, they didn’t even have window air conditioners, much less central heat and air. Office buildings
opened the windows and used fans (while everyone inside chain-smoked all day, too). Even in childhood I asked my parents and grandparents how people survived back then.
I don’t know if it was really as hot and humid in their day and they were just acclimated to it, but they survived nonetheless, using
open windows and fans, and ice and later window AC’s. Kids often slept on screened porches during the summers, and still played outside all day, likely in whatever shade and water source they could find.
Aside from climate changes, the population was sparser; there were thousands more trees and little to no asphalt; much less air pollution; less toxic food and water. I think people in their day were much healthier in general, definitely less obese.
Fast forward to today. When COVID hit, places were checking entrants’ temperatures. Mine, of course, is abnormally low. I asked someone if they saw other people with such low temperatures, and they replied, “oh, lots of people!!!” I was kind of shocked but shouldn’t have been. My intuition tells me that doctors, nurses, etc are now taught that “normal” temperature has a much wider range than the rigid 98.6F that old school practitioners believed. The dumbing down of medicine. (I could go on and on with other examples.)
Additionally, I have noticed an alarming trend in children and teenagers. These idiots wear sweatshirts and long pants in summer in 100F weather and don’t even appear to break a sweat. They should be dropping like flies from heat stroke. I even google this and found other adults wondering the same things. The parents of such responded it was because the teachers kept the classrooms so cold. I call BS on that. I see this in the summer and after school. Outside walking down the street.
I can only assume it’s unbelievable idiocy based on fad, or they all have abnormally low body temperatures, which I wonder about
. If they do, WHY? That’s NOT normal. Neither is it healthy.
