I didn’t know there was a test for Gilbert’s.
There is a type of genetic testing for "UGT1A1 gene" if you have the gene you have Gilbert's syndrome. Dr's wont order it. The only thing the test is used for is if your getting chemo for a form of colon cancer. If you have Gilbert's basically the chemo will kill you. I had a tumor in my appendix and asked the dr about
genetic testing for Gilbert's and he felt it would be justified even though I dont get chemo.
Usually a Dr will order a "Bilirubin, Fractionated" test on the first sample if you have elevated Bilirubin. I forget what the second test does but it will confirm in most cases.
