Hi everyone I had a procedure done a little order a month ago called a UFE or Uterine Fibroid Embolism. The procedure went ok but because of the awful stories I heard about
ciprofloxacin I choose not to take it. I instead used my Cowden herbs.
about a month after this I started having bad cramping and pain in my let back. The pain was 10 out of 10. I called the doctor and said that I felt I had a uti or yeast infection. Both test came back negative so there was nothing they could really do fir me. I started using Cistus tea and Samento again which does help a lot but there still some lingering pain. Should I take the ciprofloxacin?? Or I can stick with the herbs and Cistus tea. What would you all do? Thank you!

ask if he will prescribe you an alternative.

Ciprofloxin is one of the fluoroquinolone 's antibiotics that come with a black box warning. (risk of tendon rupture....and more recently CNS issues - there may be another one - that I'm forgetting)

I do know someone who took Bactrim for it....that comes with some issues, as well - but if I had to choose...I would avoid the Cipro.

Bactrim comes with a possible reaction called: Steven Johnson Syndrome.

Pick your poison. I'd go with Bactrim.

Edited to add: Doesn't Ceftin treat UTI's?

Thanks so much Girlie. For some reason when I called they didn’t seem to want to give me a different antibiotic. I can’t decide what to do! Would the ciprofloxacin be good at killing any untreated Lyme I have in my system? I think I will either give it a try or just stay on my Cowden herbs and see how it goes. Thank you!

Cipro is apparently a good abx for Lyme/bart

Dr J prescribes the fluoroquinolones for bart as it’s apparently the best for Bartonella.
So that is a plus.
