My GP retired....unfortunately. She isn't retirement age...but has started her own business in skin care. She was very supportive re: lyme....and never once questioned my diagnosis...even though she hadnt had a patient with lyme before me. Docs up here - don't really know much - if anything about lyme diagnosis, and treatment.

I'm on my way to the clinic - to meet the new Practitioner who took over her practice.

I need a lab req for monthly 'safety' labs fo Dr. Jemsek. So, I'm going to have to explain chronic lyme...etc. Not looking forward to it....

That would be fun to watch - you selling the idea to someone new. Hope it works out as the importance of regular testing is so important. Let us know.

Good luck, @Girlie! I know the struggle.

@running wild I've done that demoralizing sales speech more than once

I had an understanding practitioner, she was the best, then more recently she was replaced by a similar younger version of her, and well I hope you have better luck than me

As far as I could tell, the new practitioner wouldn't acknowledge the IgG IgM band specific science of one of the top docs in the world...

@Girlie It's nice when you find a helpful doctor, I hope this new one is as good or better.

Well it went quite well.

This Doc is from the US so is familiar with Lyme disease.

He is quite a calm fella and filled out the lab req right away.
I summarized my Lyme journey in 5 minutes as I know they are always running late and I think he appreciated that.
I explained how bad my health was in the first couple of years and how far I have come - and I have returned to work. (I was doubting it would ever happen)

He gave me a lab req for everything I asked for plus a few extra liver function tests.

I think he will be a good doc to have - even tho I’m still missing my female doc - she was great!
