Hi

I was diagnosed with Lyme in Dec 2019. I went thru the Doxy for three weeks and things got better but I still had some symptoms. Then about 3 months ago a new symptoms of extreme skin sensitivity started. I had the blood test done and I still have 4 Lyme markers. I have now been thru 4 weeks of Doxy and skin is getting worse again.

Does anyone else have the skin issue? Some days just wearing clothes is a challenge.

What’s it feel like like and where it is? Like a sunburn? Or burning? Numbess? Stinging?

What part of the country are you in?

What were your other lyme symptoms. I assume they saw a bullseye or tick bite if they gave you 3 weeks of doxy?

I never had the bulls eye mark. I was tested for Lyme first due to being run down and overall body aches. I flagged at that time for 6 of the markers. I have no idea how long I had it before It was found in the bloodwork.

My skin is painful to the touch mostly on my torso. I am female and wearing a bra is painful. I am interested in any coping techniques anyone has found to deal with the skin sensitivity. I am in the US in the northeast.

Sounds like it could be neuropathy. Weird for it to start on your trunk, but happens a lot in lyme.

I would go see this guy if you’re near Connecticut.

Welcome to the forum

Was the test a western blot?
If so, you can’t rely on that as our immune system can still produce antibodies for Lyme after sufficient treatment.
But, it sounds like you may be herxing now that you’re taking doxy again.
Any other symptoms?

It was just a standard blood test my Dr ordered. I don’t think he called it a western blot.

My overall symptoms: skin sensitive, fatigue, achy joints, tinnitus, insomnia and sometimes brain fog.

I am still new to this and not sure what herxing means. Can you explain?
