As some of you know, I’m on Maintenance now - taking abx one week per month.

Like clockwork - if I’m gonna feel bad, it’s the Friday when the S—t hits the fan.

I felt a bit off around 10:00 pm and by 1 am my temp was 37.5.
Shivering, nausea and body aching.
Last temp reading was 38.6.

Trying not to wake husband up - he works tomorrow…..

I’m drinking lots - but can’t take an Epsom salt bath because it would wake hubby up.

I’m bundled up because I’m shivering internally but I guess I should do what I can to lower the temp.

Just lamenting - don’t mind me.

How much detox do you do during a normal week? Maybe it could help to increase it a bit? If I slack with my detox I often have more symptoms a while after.

I think it's important to stick to a routine with detox where you aim for a certain amount each week. I have a goal for both IR-sauna and Epsom foot baths that works well for me. I believe I can cut down on it in the future, but I think it's likely that I will continue with detox for a very very long time.

Seems like a typical herx. I wake up in the night and I sweat and I pee.

As far as I can tell the detox is because of the herx, it's eliminating the garbage from the dead bacteria. I'm not sure how you could detox before you herx.

Yes, if they build up too much you are more likely to have a bad herx. By constantly detoxing you reduce that risk. Working on your sleep and other health-related things will also help.

@Girlie: Are you on that pulsed abx protocol by S.P. ? I've read in his book he does Tetracycline with Diflucan 2-3 weeks on/off then extends the off periods. Do you feel it's working for you? I've heard of cases where people initially felt better but then they went downhill big time and regretted pulsing.

Started in 2018

Babesia (with Mepron or Malarone) treatment for several months (about 6 months)

Bartonella/Persisters (Rifabutin, dapsone,daraprim/Mino/Ceftin/tinidazole/Alini/clindamycin ) for 6 (or was it 8?)months.

Then maintenance

“ Whoa. That's one hell of a combo. Rifabutin by itself is darn strong, Dapsone even stronger (it was fatal for some people). Can't imagine anything surviving that entire set of antimicrobials.

I could only tolerate Clindamycin for about 5-7 days before kidney pain became untolerable. “


The combo isn’t as bad as it seems. I wasn’t taking all that together

Week 1 I took Rifabutin M/W/F with mino and Ceftin plus Dapsone and Daraprim (I think it was m/w/f)

Week 2 was M/T/W Rifabutin, Clindamycin and mino

Weeks 3 and 4 Alinia - I could take it anytime in that 3/4 week period - but had to be 5 days in a row

I should go look for the protocol as I’m not 100% I have listed it all correctly

Rifabutin is even “ stronger” than Rifampin.

Yah that protocol I was on - lowered my kidney function and some days I was a vegetable .
