Bartonella Vinsonii, Genus and Reaction to Oil of Oregano

As posted a month or so ago, I tested positive for tick born relapsing fever and Bartonella. The TBRF is pretty clear cut, but I am unclear on the relevance of he strains of Bartonella - vinsonii and genus. Treat is just like any other form of Baartonella?

This morning, I took a little oil of oregano. about two hours later, things got "loopy" and I've felt very off since. Using it for Bart until my doctor comes up with a plan. I've read Doxy works against Bart, and may try it as so many other antibiotics mess with kidneys.

If I recall correctly I was looking into this subject a while ago (whether there are any differences between treating strains). I came to the same conclusion as Garzie, I found very little information on the subject.

I have taken OoO and it absolutely hurts my gut so badly. Which is strange because not many things hurt my gut. So yeah, it's very harsh.

Most doxy for bart studies I found were on dogs. So yes, I would think it would apply to humans too.

Another thing I found is that many bartonella studies are done on homeless people, which is good to research of course, but also I wonder if that skews the results as they might have more medical problems than people who aren't homeless.

You can tell it’s harsh, as Garzie mentioned, just by it’s taste. I felt off today until about 4 or 5. I was at practice and some of the runners asked if I was drunk (I was a bit spacey from it). They know about the Lyme.

That’s interesting about the dogs and homeless tests, and you make good points about reliability (or not) of it, Rainy Cloud.

The gram negative killers are my goal. I’ll try Doxy first with the OOO to see if it helps. And the food thought is good.

Been two days on oil of oregano and stomach is not feeling bad, which surprises me. Once again, I feel off about two hours after taking it, but that faded yesterday. Would guess that means it's doing something. If my stomach does start hurting, I'll go to the liposomal version.

NOW Foods (supplement brand) puts the OO in an enteric capsule, so it doesn't open in your stomach but in your lower intestines. At least in theory.

Problem is, it's a hit or miss, sometimes it still opens up in my stomach and it hurts.
Maybe adding more layers of empty capsules could help.
