“ Could it be that this could be a form of neuropathy caused by Lyme disease and co-infections?”
YES. Absolutely. The positive tests you got - which lab was this?
Lyme and bartonella, especially, can cause all those symptoms.
What triggered all this? Did you have a known tick or other insect bite? A respiratory illness? Dental work? Travel or moving from one house to another?

This is an easy one. It’s small fiber neuropathy. It’s a disease of the small nerve fibers (not the large ones) so it doesn’t show up on an Emg.
It can be caused by lyme, but many things can do it. Generally associated w autoimmunity and you have AS already. I’m noticing lots of people w AS get this type of neuropathy.
I have had SFN for years and recently developed either PsA or Reiters syndrome after the vaccine. In the same family as AS.
The treatment is IVIG. You need to ask for a punch biopsy to confirm it then find one of the few drs in the country who is willing to use IVIG to treat it (IVIg is fda approved for large fiber neuropathy but not small fiber as the clinical trial was never done, so some drs aren’t willing to go to bat to get it even tho it clearly is called for)
Feel free to email me on the side and I can give you some help or we can talk. I know all about
this disease
