Omicron & GlaxoSmithKline Monoclonal Antibodies

Thankfully, it seems the Omicron variant is generally less lethal than the Delta variant -- which Omicron seems to be displacing. But, of course, we all know that not everyone responds the same way to a given stimulus.

Anyway, last night, I heard the following doctor talking about therapeutics for COVID and he specifically mentions that the Regeneron monoclonal antibodies do not appear to be effective against the Omicron variant. However, he states that the GlaxoSmithKline monoclonal antibodies are effective against this variant.

Hopefully, none of us will need this information...or, the treatment. But, FYI, just in case.

If they are hospitalized, it must be pretty severe. If so, that makes me think maybe it's the Delta variant. But, since you mentioned GlaxoSmithKline, did they determine it's the Omicron version?

Either way, I hope they're able to recover quickly and have no lingering issues.
