Treating gut pathogens has definitely helped me, but I have not reaped lasting gains. I always slide back. That’s probably because I am terrible with diet. Rx Nystatin and Fluconazole (antifungals) and Ivermectin and Alinia (anti-parasitics) helped me.
Non Rx supplements that gave me tangible breakthroughs: Candicid Forte and Mimosa pudica.
Supplements that had some benefit but no major breakthrough: olive leaf, oregano, Formula 1, Intestinal Mover, cryptolepis,
As far as probiotics, I have tried a few. I have taken Renew Life, Orthomolecular, VSL #3, Megaspore, Visbiome, rhamnosus, and a urinary tract formula. Of those, Megaspore was the only one that I could feel doing anything (felt intestinal reactions). None of them had any noticeable effects on my symptoms, my bowel habits, or my stool.
I do continue to take S. Boullardii since I am still taking antifungals. I may have had some die off when I started that, but I can’t remember.
There have been times (especially pre-antifungal Rx) when I felt like I had a toxin producing factory in my gut. My symptoms calmed down significantly after starting antifungals and then TUDCA.
MCAS treatments have also helped - Zyrtec, Cromolyn sodium, AllerDHQ all seemed to help. I don’t take them all the time, but they have brought relief during periods of worsened symptoms.
Everyone is different, as you well know. Just thought I’d share my personal experiences.
