Afternoon Low-Grade Fever Back with Severe Fatigue, Teeth Hurt at Night

Once again, I am experiencing what the subject mentions. It starts about 3:00 pm and goes until about 6:30 or 7:00 pm. My face feels like it's hot , but it's not as hot as it seems. Fever feels like it's 100+, but it's not much above normal. Fatigue is the real butt kicker. The teeth and the odd part is at night, one side of my nose goes numb feeling at gets better during the day.

I do not believe this is EBV back. I'm wondering if not treating TBRF with Bicillin has let it back in. It's always a guess. Don't know if it's Bart related, Sjogren's related, EBV, candida or who knows what.

I'm starting back Bicillin tomorrow, but will have to stop Doxy since Bicillin is a stand alone drug. Dcd has done a good job explaining what.

Hi, RW. Sorry you are dealing with this again!

This rings a bell for me because I've been experiencing something similar lately due to the high pollen levels this spring, causing my MCAS to be difficult to manage for the latter half of most days. By afternoon each day I feel hot, tired, foggy, headache, with teeth pain. This has been happening even on days with no traditional allergy symptoms (sneezing, itchy eyes, etc.) for about two months now. Any chance the pollen is affecting you, too, and causing a mast cell response? Just an idea.

Hope you find some relief ASAP, and good luck with the bicillin.

saraeli - That is a possibility, though the pollen count here is lower than it was a couple of weeks ago without symptoms. But maybe it has an accumulative effect. Maybe I should try Claritin again? Anything worked for you? Thanks for your idea.

Does your face feel like its burning up but temp is only a little above average?

So sorry you’re dealing with this again. For years after the onset of symptoms, I would get a red, hot, burning face that typically started right after lunch and peaked around 5-6 pm, dissipating by 8-9 pm. I would often feel lethargic like I had a fever around 4 pm. I would go to the nurse’s office at work to check my temperature, and it would be 98.6 or lower. My normal temp was subnormal, so it would be slightly elevated for me but nothing to explain how I felt.

I never tested positive for any relapsing fever, but I did test positive for ehrlichia along with Lyme through DNA Connexions. I am not sure if TBRF was included in any test I had.

Just thought of something - have you had any exposure to anything different around the time this started - paint, chemicals, raw wood products, smoke, etc?

Several evenings ago, a neighbor used canned spray paint. I could smell it and heard someone shaking the can because I heard the ball bearings in the can. Within seconds of smelling it, I got pain in my teeth and felt like my teeth were going to fall out and my face and head were burning. I often get burning face, mouth, or scalp when exposed to various toxins.

I think SP had a relapsing fever during just one part of the day consistently and found treating Brucella fixed it. I get teeth pain, I find that increasing progesterone helps it but causes others issues. Low bp, when my body struggles to keep my bp high makes me feel,feverish and sweaty.

I got tooth/jaw pain from borrelia (and maybe bart). It got worse when I herxed and has gone away with treatment.

Be careful with claritin as desloratadine stresses borrelia and can cause the bacteria to become active and release toxins. If you're going to disturb the bacteria in this way, be prepared to take some antibiotics that can kill it. Otherwise use something else for allergies.

Thoughts on Brucella and ehrlichia are good ones. What is best way to treat those? I've started back on Bicillin to see if it changes anything. The odd part is all this comes with the right side teeth hurting and right side of nose feeling impacted or numb.

Thanks for the tip on Claritin. And I remember you writing about the burning face, WBF. But, like yours, my temp is usually low and gets up to 98.6 or 98.7 when I feel the fever feeling and fatigue. I'm hitting Monolaurin more now.
